OIL FUEL
AMENDMENTS TO RATIONING SCHEME. SUPPLIES FOR AGRICULTURAL CONTRACTORS. Vendors of oil fuels are being advised that they may supply farmers and agricultural contractors at any time during the year with the quantities of motor-spirit for which licences are held. They are being required to take precautions to ensure that supplies are not obtained in excess of the annual quantity that the consumer has been licensed to obtain. This will mean that the class of oil fuel user referred to will be able to exceed his monthly licence quota if it is necessary for him to do so to undertake seasonal work, but in subsequent months he will have to reduce the quantities used so as to ensure that the annual authorised quantity is not exceeded. The necessary amendments to licences will be undertaken by the Post Office as required. In order that farmers may transport stock to and from A. and P. shows, special licences are being made available for reasonable quantities of motor spirit for this purpose. FORGED COUPONS. CIRCULATING IN NEW ZEALAND. The Oil Fuel Controller has been advised that spurious motor spirit coupons are in circulation. Vendors are warned not to accept these coupons which are printed on slightly thicker card than the genuine issue. Moreover the crown is clumsily done and spurious coupons can be distinguished from the genuine issue.
