A GENEROUS OFFER
LORD BLEDISLOE THANKED

WELLINGTON, This Day
Lord Bledisloe, former GovernorGeneral of New Zealand, having offered the use of his country estate. Lydney Park, Gloucester, as a hospital or convalescent home for New Zealand soldiers in England, the Government yesterday dispatched to the High Commissioner in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, the following cablegram:—
“Will you please convey to Lord Bledisloe the Government’s warm appreciation of his generous offer of Lydney Park as a hospital or convalescent home for New Zealand soldiers.
"It is as yet too early to indicate the time when, or extent to which, it will be possible to take advantage of Lord Bledisloe's offer, but the Govern ■ ment wishes to assure him that it will avail itself of his generosity as and when circumstances would indicate.”
