FEATHERSTON
ST. JOHN’S GUILD ADDRESS ON POLAND. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a meeting of St John’s Ladies’ Guild, Mrs M. Cleghorn, principal of St Matthew’s Collegiate School for Girls, gave a very interesting address on her travels in Poland. The tea hostesses, were Mesdarhes Sharp, Bergh and Allen. Personal Items. Mr D. C. Kibblewhite, a former resident of Featherston but now of Temuka, is visiting the district and is the guest of Mr and Mrs G. E. Yule, of South Featherston. The Red Cross Society will combine with the Scouts in tendering a farewell social to Mr H. Piper on Monday night. Mr Piper will leave for the Ngaruawahia camp on Wednesday. Thought it Was a Submarine. A boy in the New Zealand Navy, in writing home to his parents in Featherston, spoke of an experience recently when they passed a monster whale with fins Bft out of the water and 6ft broad. It was at first reported to be a submarine.
