GOLF COMPETITIONS CUP WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special ) The final games for the handicap cups for ladies and men were played during the week. Mrs McKinstry won the ladies’ cup with Mrs Schofield run-ner-up, and N. Foreman annexed the men's cup with N. Kummer a dose second.
Further rounds for the trophies, combined with a stableford competition, were played during the weekend. Mrs Schofield handed in the best card for the trophy competition with a nett 69 and Mrs Foreman’s 32 was the best stableford for the ladies. In the men’s section E. Nitz topped both with 63 in the trophy competition and a 36 stableford.
As the annual ball is being held on September 30. the next rounds for the competitions will be played the following day. The competitions are now reaching an interesting stage and it inessential that all players should gel. all their rounds in.
Owing to the petrol restrictions the inter-club match with the Wharomoukou Club scheduled for October 1 has been abandoned.
