COLLEGE HOCKEY
SOLWAY v WAIRARAPA. A match between a Solway College team and the senior girls’ team of Wairarapa College played yesterday resulted in a win for the latter by 4 goals to 1. The game was very evenly contested, the Solway College team being particularly strong and active, and including several players who could well find a place in any senior team. Their goal was scored by E. McKenzie. S. White and P. Cadwallader played great games in the forwards and M. Wilton was very solid in defence. Goals for Wairarapa were scored by E. Hanlcy 12), K. Ross and J. Childs. Earlier in the week the Solway College team had defeated the Wairarapa College junior A team, winners of the local junior championship, by a margin of 3-2.
