ALIENS REGISTER

BEWILDERING AERAY OF NATIONALITIES. WELLINGTON RUSH NOW OVER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The corridors of the central police station in Wellington have been, during the last week or two, filled with patiently waiting groups of people anxious to register under the requirements brought about by the war. Men and women from Poland, Palestine, Austria, Armenia, Latvia and Lebanon have all queued up outside the special office, and there has been a bewildering array of nationalities which even included one applicant who announced his home town as Nazareth. So far 1475 certificates have been issued to aliens in the Wellington district. The rush is now over and work is confined mainly to issuing certificates to aliens in outlying places who have registered by post.
