DEATH AT CAMBRIDGE
OF REV M. W. P. LASCELLES. (By Tel Graph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Advice has been received in Wellington of the death at Cambridge this morning of the Rev M. W. P. Lascelles, president-elect of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, aged 76. During the Great War ne served as Y.M.C.A. commissioner in England, France and Egypt. He was president of the Baptist Union, and of the Missionary Society in 1919. In 1922 he was appointed secretary of the union with headquarters at Wellington, and held this position for 16 years, relinauishing it to become Pastor at Cambridge.
