CADET CONCERT
gathering in municipal HALL. The community sing and concert held in the Municipal Hull on Saturday night by the Te Ore Ore and Gladstone St John Ambulance Cadets proved a most successful gathering. Hakas were contributed by the Te Ore Ore Harnua Glee Club, beside.-: long and double pois and a number of Maori songs. The Gladstone cadets also gave items of a similar kind. Songs were given by Miss Nellie Carroll Miss W. Nini and by Mr Leo Chung, lap dances by Miss L. Lock and Miss W. Nini and a Maori poi song and other items by the Te Ore Ore cadets. The latter were trained by Mr C. Mitchell. A demonstration of first-aid work included the setting of broken limbs, preparation of a bed for an emergency case in a private home and a drmlav of street drill Thanks were extended to the members of the Mo Katoa Scout Troop, the boy ambulance cadet members, and the girls of the Nursing Division who act ■ cd as ushers and sold sweets to swell the takings. Thanks were also expressed Io all who had put in so much time and effort in training and preparing the cadets for the performance.
