—. —t PARTIES IN AUSTRALIA FAIL TO AGREE PROPOSAL BY MR MENZIES REJECTED. RIGHT TO SELECT MINISTERS. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. CANBERRA. September 14. The negotiations for a composite Federal Ministry between the United Australia Party and the United Country Party have ended abruptly. The Prime Minister. Mr Menzies, announced today that his proposal under which he should select his own Ministers from the ranks and file of the Country Party had been unanimously rejected, and the matter was thus closed for the present. “I am just going on with the job I have had in hand hitherto,” he said. The personnel of Australia’s war Cabinet is expected to be announced tomorrow.
