QUIET WEDDING (“Times-Age” Special.) A quiet but pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mr A. Aitchison, Kitchener Street, Martinborough, on September 9, of Velma, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Aitchison, to Richard Watkins, only son of Mr J. W. and the late Mrs Watkins, of Dqnedin. The bride looked very smart wearing an ox-blood costume and accessories to tone. She carried a posy of violets. Attending her was her sister, Miss M. Aitchison, wearing a red jumper suit and carrying a posy of primroses. The best man was Mr A. Aitchison Junr. The wedding breakfast was afterwards held at the home of the bride’s parents only close relatives being present. Personal. Mr and Mrs Caverhill, of Hinakura, have returned from a . trip to the North of Auckland. Hereford Bull Purchased. A purchase of interest to Wairarapa cattlemen is that of a Hereford bull from the stud of Messrs Hutchinson Bros., “Waihuka,” Poverty Bay, made by Mr Robert Smith, of Waihenga, Martinborough, at the Gisborne annual bull sale. The entry of 28 Hereford bulls averaged 55 1-3 guineas. The highest price was 175 guineas paid by Mr Smith, the next highest being 120 guineas, 100 guineas .and 91 guineas. The bull purchased by Mr Smith is a very good specimen of the breed and was one of the Waihuka show team last year, as a yearling.
