The people iof Lapland made all or most of their cooking utensils, boats, etc., from birch trees. In Greenland the only Eskimo transport was by means of dogs -and sleighs. The Eskimos hadl a very hard life. They were good hunters, and their only meat' was reindeer and seals, which they stored up for the winter months. They traded in the skins of polar bears and seals. Their only clothing consisted of the fur from these animals. Miss Keddell was thanked by Mrs Bull for her very interesting address. Little Beth Stuart then presented Miss Keddell with a beautiful bouquet of jonquils. Mesdames Rees and Anker were asked to cut the birthday cake, which had been made by Mrs Wiggins (secretary) and iced by Mrs Arthur Nichols.
