Playing in the citv of Melbourne table tennis championships Swift and D. E. Boniface (New Zealanders) were eliminated in the first round. D. R. Algic, who was the only New Zealander to reach the semi-finals, also won the final, defeating Thoms, a former Australian champion, 21/15, 21/17 21/17.
