OBITUARY

MR J. W. MARTIN. The death occurred today of Mr James William Martin, of 125 Chapel Street, Masterton. Th.e late Mr Martin was born in Greenwich, England, 62 years ago. He was married in Featherston to Miss Minnie Lawry, third daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Thomas Lawry, the greater part of his life being spent in the Wairarapa. During the past 19 years he was employed by the Masterton Borough Council. Mr Martin is survived by a widow and four sons, Messrs A. E. Martin (Petone), J. J. Martin (Masterton), T. L. Martin (Masterton), W. G. Martin (Christchurch). The funeral will take place on Wednesday, leaving the residence after a service commencing at 2.30 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
