Browh reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 29.87; shade temperature, maximum 55.1, minimum 30.8; terrestrial. 21.3; sunshine, 8 hours 54 minutes; rain, 10 points; frost, 9.1 degrees. SOLWAY RAINFALL. FIGURES FOR AUGUST. Mr IT. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured on 21 days in August. The maximum fall was 65 points on August 17 and the minimum 3points on the 4th. 14th, 27th and 29th. The total for the month was 3.71 inches as compared with 2.62 (1938). 1.53 (1937). 3.06 (1936), 4.25 (1935) and 4.41 (1934). The average for 36 years was 3.55 inches. The total rainfall for the eight months of the year was 21.93 inches, as against 31.62 (1938). 23.10 (1937 i. 32.73 (1936). 28.95 (1935) and 27.49 (1934). The average for 36 years is 26.87 inches.
