MAURICEVILLE
OPENING OF SCHOOL TO BE SUITABLY CELEBRATED. ("Times-Age” Special.) It has been decided on the completion of the Mauriceville East. School to run a fancy dress dance for the young folk and to invite all children of local districts to attend the gathering. An invitation is also extended by the school committees, teachers and others interested to the official opening of the school, which is to be held on a date to be arranged. It is expected that the new school will be completed in about a fortnight. WOMEN’S DIVISION SUCCESSFUL CARD PARTY. The second of a series of euchre tournaments in aid of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Mauriceville East Hall yesterday and was largely attended. Mrs G. Heckler kindly donated the prizes, which were won by Mrs Palmer and Mr A. Larsen. Supper was served by a ladies' committee. CROQUET CLUB CARD AFTERNOON. An enjoyable card afternoon was recently held at the residence of Mrs F. Scherf, the proceeds being in aid of the Mauriceville Croquet Club. Timprize went to Mrs H. Freeman. Mrs J. McEwen thanked Mrs Scherf for the use of her home. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames F. Freeman, J. Milner and F. Scherf.
