FALSE PRETENCES
MONEY AND GOODS OBTAINED. OFFENDER SENT TO GAOL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Opening accounts with different banks under assumed names, Roy Polson. aged 32. obtained numerous amounts of money and goods from city firms of a total value of £B7 before he Was apprehended by the police. This morning he appeared before Mr Levvcy. S.M., in Court on twelve charges of obtaining goods and money by false pretences and on each of the first two was sentenced to six months imprisonment with hard labour, the sentences Io Im cumulative. He was convicted and discharged on the others.
