VOORTREKKER WAGONS

TWO PROBABLY GOING TO HOLLAND. Two Voortrekker wagons with two spans of Afrikander oxen may shortly visit Holland. It was learnt from Maritzburg that preparations were almost complete. The wagons used will be those which participated in the Voortrekker centenary. The teams of oxen will be drawn from the Raboni Ranch, Hoopstad. Free State. The two teams will comprise picked animals. The oxen will be reel and yellow Afrikanders. The wagons will tour throughout Holland, and the spans will then be broken up. Some of the animals will go to museums and zoos. Others will be sold. It will not be possible for the beasts to return to the Union, as foot-and-mouth disease is prevalent in Europe. —"Natal Mercury."
