QUEEN CARNIVAL

SUCCESSFUL SHOP DAY. POSITION OF THE CANDIDATES. A very successful shop day was held yesterday in the Occidental Mart in aid of the St. Patrick's Centennial Queen Carnival Fund. Excellent business was done by the various stallholders. The Queen Carnival is divided into four districts. North: Convenor. Mrs Edwards; queen, Miss Maureen Eastwood. South: Convenor, Mrs Thompson; queen, Miss Kitty Cairns. East: Convenor, Mrs Penson; queen. Miss Agnes Mannell. West: Convenor, Mrs Gordon; queen. Miss Phyliss Kilmister. The positions of the queens at present as indicated on the flagpole over Mr H. E. Pither's shop, is: North. South, East and West.
