GREYTOWN

WOMEN’S DIVISION MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers' Union was held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs Beu presided over a good attendance of members. Mrs Beu expressed sympathy with those members who had sickness in their families. Used stamps were received from Mesdames Tuily and E. Graham (Levin). A letter conveying greetings to the branch was received from Mrs Wood, Senr, an old and valued member, also 5s as a donation to the branch funds. It was reported the cake stall, which was held last Friday, had realised £lO. The fruit cake made and donated by Mrs Beu, was won by Sister Cheer of the Greytown Hospital staff. A helpful discussion took place m regard to the Rest' Room. A social was arranged to be held at Morison's Bush on September 25, an invitation to be sent to husbands and members of the Young Farmers’ Club and the men’s Farmers’ Union division to be present. Lady members are asked to supply the supper. An appeal was received from the organiser of the Makogai Island Leper Fund. Members were asked to bring donations for the same to the next meeting. The funds are to provide Christmas cheer for lepers. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Dyson, Denny, Hutchings and S. Skeet. On the motion of Mrs Beu they were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The meeting closed with the singinp of the National Anthem.
