RESULTS OF BOUTS

There was some good boxing witnessed at the second tournament staged by the Featherston Boxing Club.
The success of the tournament and the strong condition of the Featherston Boxing Club are due to the energetic interest of the president. Mr R. F. Watson. Mr O'Halloran (Carterton) trainer. and Messrs W. Sturdee and Alt' Jensen, who are always in attendance on practice night. The following were the bouts and results: —M. Jensen. 3.6 (Featherston) drew with N. Halpin. 3.6 (Featherston). N. Johansen (Berhampore), 4.0. beat N. Phelps. 4.2 (Railways Workshops) (T. Hardie's Cup). C. Thorne, 4.7 (Featherston) beat T. Thompson. 4.7 (Railway Workshops). J. Thorne. 6.9 (Featherston) drew with M. Kurth. 7.0 (Silverstream). J. Medgley, 7.4 (Featherston) lost to L. Domney, 6.13 (Railway Workshops). W. Kinesyfi 7.5 (Featherston) beat J. McKenzie. 7.6 (Silverstream). A. Thompson. 6.2 (Featherston) beat Gibbons, 5.12 (Berhampore). J. Cherry. 8.6 (Featherston). beat Thompson, 8.12 (Masterton). B. Pauling. 9.6 (Masterton) lost to G. Kurth (Silverstream). N. Kennedy. 9.7 (Carterton) beat P. Strickland, 9.6 (Workshops). C. Clements, 10.6 (Featherston) beat B. Rutherford. 10.6 (Masterton). H. Jones, 9.6 (Masterton) lost to Douglas, 9.6 (Berhampore). M. Connelly, 14.2 (Greytown), lost to Hollinghead. 14.6 (Railway Workshops). M. Howard, 11.6 (Masterton) lost to Hensley, 11.2 (Railway Workshops). In a special 6-round contest. Steve Morris (Featherston) boat B. Welsh (Masterton), the referee stopping the fight in the second round. The referee was Mr C. Holland (Carterton). Mr Archie Crawford was timekeeper. Mr J. Broad (Masterton) was announcer, and also presented the trophies at the conclusion, of the tournament. Euchre Party and Dance. A very successful euchre party and dance was held in Pahautea Hall on Saturday night. The winners of the card prizes were: Ladies, Miss Nancy Cade, 1; Mrs Enoka, 2; men: Mr J. Bentley, 1; Mi’ S. Pound 2. Personal. Miss Margaret Merlet, Wellington, is visiting her mother, Mrs Merlet, Waite Street.
