Ottawa. —Reports received here indicate that the Canadian Government's main herd of reindeer in the Canadian Arctic has been increased by about 1,200 fawns this year. The number of animals comprising lhe main herd it now around 4,700 reindeers. In addition, another herd comprising 900 animals which was separated from the main body last year is now being looked after by native herdsmen. It is hoped that in time, every Canadian Eskimo family will have their own reindeers to supply them with mean' of transportation, food, meat and clothing.
