BADMINTON
NEW ZEALAND TOURNEY MASTERTON COMPETITORS. HAWKSWORTH TO DEFEND TITLES. Keen interest, is being taken by Badminton enthusiastc in the Wairarapa in the performances of the Masterton competitors in the New Zealand Badminton Tournament, which will be held at New Plymouth this week. The New Zealand singles, men's doubles and combined doubles title holder. Mr Phil Hawksworth, wil] defend his titles, playing with Mrs Hawksworth and G. A. Pearce. Despite the fact that he has not played for a fortnight. Hawksworth is expected to maintain his position as New Zealand's leading player. J. J. Payton, North Island and Hawke's Bay title holder will also compete, and is expected to do well. The Masterton competitors will include Messrs P. Hawksworth. J. J. Pay ton. Mrs P. Hawksworth. Miss B.
