FIELD & WATER TRIALS NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. MASTERTON COMPETITORS SUCCESSFUL. (By Telegraph—Pi'ess Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The North Island championship field and water trials for gun-dogs were held at Lower Hutt on Saturday, among the record entries being dogs from New Plymouth, Manawatu, Wairarapa, and the South Island. The winner of the championship was Mr P. R. Roser's labrador, Shotover Sheila, with an aggregate of 168 points. Mr P. Hennessey, Invercargill, judged the events, and the other officials were:—Trials captain, Mr G. C. Mayo; judges, steward, Mr F. Eales, traps stewards, Mr J. Searle; bird steward, Mr W. Southee; trials secretary, Mr S. C. Rod. Results: —

Puppy field trial: Mr F. Eales’s springer spaniel, Lynmister, Speights, 74pts, 1; Mr J. W. Curtin’s labrador, Rose Tralee, 73pts, 2; Mr G. C. Mayo’s labrador, Tararua Taito, 62pts, 3.

Limit field trial: Mr M. J. Rawlins’s labrador, Cleopatra May, 87pts, 1; Mr A. Marker’s labrador, Sheila of Devon. 76pts, 2; Mr E. Hall’s cocker spaniel, Blue, 73pts, 3.

Pointer and setter breed field championship: Mrs R. W. Plunket’s Irish setter, Redstone Tawa. 83pts, 1; Mr W. Jarvis’s English setter. Holme Chieftain, 78pts, 2; Mr R. W. Plunket’s Biddy, 77pts, 3. Puppy water trial: Mrs J. W. Curtin’s Labrador. Rose of Tralee, 92pts, 1; Mr L. G. Morris’s Irish water spaniel. Major of Riversdale, 85pts, 2; Mr O. Hurney’s labrador, Tararua Sam, 831 pts, 3.
