KIATERE CLUB. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. The Kiatere Club will hold its annual 6.1-mile club championship on Saturday, commencing from the Showgrounds at 2.30 p.m. Judging by his form in previous races. R. Greeks appears to be the certainty for this race, but in W. Burgess and W. MacDonald the club has two men who are quite likely to take the lead and carry oft the honours. Mention must also b; made of W. Burns. J. Laing and A MacDonald, who although not runniiq al top form in the past have yet time to show their paces in this race. The eight Kiatere juniors will als< take part in the a championship, this time over a distance of 3 1-8 miles The winner is to receive the Turnbull Cup. M. Doyle and N. Jacobsen shouic' prove the most interesting of the boy: being as they are of equal calibre. F Sexton, who has been running well lately, however, is quite capable o: making Doyle and Jacobsen give o! their best, and for second place he seems almost a certainty. A sealed handicap will be run in conjunction with this race, so as to provide point. l for the Batkin Cup.
