RESULTS OF FIRST DAY'S CONTESTS.
ONE MASTERTON DOG SURVIVES FIRST TWO ROUNDS.
Coursing of a high standard was witnessed by a large attendance of tin public on the first day of the Waterloi Cup coursing meeting at Hastings yesterday. Everything points to the meeting being an outstanding success. The biggest surprise of the day was the defeat of the favourite, the Oamaruowned Royal Ensign. Only one Masterton dog. Dainty Footsteps, owned bj Messrs James and Taylor, survived the first two rounds.
