GREYTOWN

SCHOOL TERM SOCIAL ENJOYABLE GATHERING. ("Times-Age” Special.) A very enjoyable Term Social was held by the Greytown High School pupils in the Odd Fellows’ Hall last evening. The gathering took the form of dancing and items by the pupils. The programme was as follows: — Sailor’s hornpipe; dance by Mary Carter and Patricia Sugrue. accompanied by Miss Betty Shedden; medley of songs sung by Misses Betty and Joan Feast, Kathie Whiteman, Daphne Bouzaid and Joan Ingley; mouth-organ solo, Claude Field; harp solo, Fae Humphries. A musical letter competition was won by Daphne Bouzaid. The music for dancing was supplied by Mrs H. G. Carter (piano) and Master Alan Carter (piano-accordion). Extras were played by Mr John Feast. At the conclusion of the social Mr Shedden, headmaster, thanked all those who had assisted. Supper was served by the pupils. The singing of the National Anthem brought a pleasant gathering to a close. GOLF COMPETITION DRAW FOR F. C. BUNNY TROPHY. A Hag competition (on handicap) will be played on Saturday for a trophy donated by Mr F. C. Bunny. The competition is open to all members who have not won a trophy this year. The draw is as follows: —H. W. Feast v. A. .Carter; H. R. Feast v. Ray Ingley; T. Gold v. N. McLeod; T. G. R. Ingley v. C. Stunell; T. Nelson v. J. W. Tate; E. Williams v. A. G. Rhodes'; B. Haigh v. Dr. Oakey; S. Sheddon v. G. Brunton; C. Burch v. W. Kilgour; W. Tully v. A. G. Peterson; G. F. Eagar v. L. R. Huntley; W. S. Brice v. L. Curtis; H. Keltic v. W. Brown; A. Nisbet v. W. Everett; L. Mead v. A. Durinet. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT HELD BY LABOUR PARTY. There was a good attendance at the fire brigade hall on Wednesday night for the Labour Party’s euchre tournament. The prize winners were as follows:—Ladies: Mrs McKenna. 1; Mrs Kilgour, 2. Men: Mr Boyle, 1; H. McKenna, 2. Personal. Mrs W. Kilgour, of Main Street, is at present an inmate of the Greytown Hospital.
