DANCE & EUCHRE
LABOUR PARTY GATHERING. The fortnightly series of old time and modern dances and euchre tournaments arranged by the social committee of the Masterton branch of the Labour Party was held in the Y.M.C.A. halls last night. Both halls were well tilled, showing the growing popularity of these happy functions and the evening to many of the dancers ended all too soon. The Monte Carlo dances were won by Mrs Dixon and Mr McCord and Mrs Pauling and partner. The winners of the euchre were Mrs Sayer and Mr Todd.
Music was supplied by members of Barnes’s Rhythm Boys and extras were played by Mr Stewart. Mr Pat Ward as M.C. ably controlled the function.
Another gathering will be held on August 31.
