f LEAGUE OF MOTHERS MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times- Age” Specinl.) The monthly meeting of the League of Mothers was held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon, Mrs Arch. Clark presiding over a fair attendance of members. Several apologies for absence were received. The speaker was Mrs Miller, of Masterton, who gave an interesting talk on the voluntary Aunt’s Brigade and the welfare of mothers and children. Mrs Miller was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her. talk and also the recitation which she gave. The hostesses were Mesdames A. S. Kilsby. B. Burt, P. Gain and A. Gain. Personal Items. The Misses Jean Hardie and Mary Hardie left today for Dunedin, where Miss Jean Hardie is to attend a conference of technical school teachers. The death occurred in Wellington yesterday morning of Mr William Jones, elder brother of Mrs A. P. A. CTa pshaw. CENTENARY SPORTS FEATHERSTON CELEBRATION February 10 is the day allocated to Featherston on which to hold the Centenary Sports. At a meeting called by the Mayor to decide what steps should be taken towards celebrating the centenary, it was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the council.
