KNOX CONCERT
* FIRST PERFORMANCE IN NEW McGREGOR HALL. SUNDAY SCHOOL PUPILS ENTERTAIN. The first Knox Sunday School concert to be held in the new McGregor Hall took place last night. Fully four hundred people were present and the splendid programme was well received. The items were all up to a high standard and reflected great credit on those responsible The programme was as follows: — Hymns: (a) “Dedication Hymn,” (b) “Pilot me, O Gracious Saviour,” (c) "The Christian Army,” Scholars; pianoforte duet, “Edinborough Quadrilles," Heather Douglas, Gwenda Barber; recitation, “The Pillarbox,” Barbara Harcombe; wand drill, Class I girls; solo dance, “Lambeth Walk,” Barbara Rvder; percussion band, (a) “A Merry Peasant,” (b) “Chinese March;” song, "Three Green Bonnets,” Nocline Blackwood, Florence Pickering, Margaret Thorburn; dance, "Hungarian Bells,” Senior girls; recitation, "Willy’s Herring,” Wendy Torwick; steel guitar solo, “Silent Night,” Lennie Lee; play, “Keep it Secret,” Class 4 girls; pianoforte duet, "Clown’s Polka,” Berris Perrin, Gwenyth Morice; "Little Dutch Kindergarten,” Junior girls; hymns. (a) “Bell Song,” (b) “Help to Make a Happy World,” scholars; pianoforte trio, “Polonaise,” Beth Creswell, Olga Bettleheim, Bill Finlayson; dance solo, Noelene Blackwood; gymnastics, boys’ group; piano solo, “Minuet,” Berris Perrin; tap group, Gwenyth Morice, Mary Williams, Natalie Rogers, Gwenda Barber; play, "People Will Interrupt,” Senior group; recitation, “Good for Nothing,” Dawn Couper; Highland dance, Jack Sexton; part singing, (a) “The Toad and the Fiog, (b) “The Apple Woman,” Class I and II girls; play, “Peter and the Clock,” Class 111 girls.
