BADMINTON TEAM
RETURN FROM AUSTRALIA. HAWKSWORTH’S ILLNESS CAUSES LOSS OF TEST. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The New Zealand Badminton team returned by the Awatea from Sydney today. The manager, the Rev. H. W. Austin, said the tour had been a happy and successful one. They lost the Test by five rubbers to seven, but the absence of P. Hawksworth through illness cost New Zealand, he thought, three matches. It was hoped to have an Australian and an English team playing in the centennial championships in Wellington in August next year.
