A Japanese spokesman indicated that a blockade of the International Settlement and French Concession was possible. Fie declared that the conditions prevailing in Shanghai suggested that the implications of the Anglo-Japan-ese formula were not realised in the International Settlement. If activities assisting Chiang Kai-shek continued, the Japanese Armj 7 would have to take a new stand.
