STRIKE IN AUCKLAND
TAXI DRIVERS DISSATISFIED; OVER WAGES AND HOURS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON. August 11. Dissatisfaction with wages and hours resulted in 20 drivers of the Checker Cab Company striking in the middle of the afternoon today. The men allege that the proprietor refuses to negotiate, and the secretary of the Auckland Drivers' Union stated that the men would stay out till the company agreed to negotiate.
