TRYING ORDEAL
MINER BREAKS LEG. ELEVEN DaYS IN CAMP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NELSON, August 11. A story of misfortune and fortitude was disclosed when a miner from Anatoki was brought to Takaka last evening. . The sufferer. George Kilmartin, aged 53, had one of his legs badly fractured by a fall of rock iri a tunnel he was excavating. He managed to crawl 300 yards to his camp, but his plight was not discovered till 11 days later. During that time he had mailaged to crawl 150 yards to a creek for water, the journey taking him two hours and a half each time.
