MINIATURE RIFLES
DAYLIGHT MEETING HELD AT SOUTH FEATHERSTON. CHAMPIONSHIP TO C. BAIN. (“Times-Age” Special.) The South Featherston Miniature Rifle Club held its first daylight meeting on Saturday, when 37 members competed. Conditions were rather easy and few competitors failed to reach the standard in the first two matches, but as the handicaps tightened up fewer competitors made the grade. The following are the results: — Match 1. —Thirty-two competitors tied with 100 and received 1/- each. Match . 2. —Twenty-nine competitors received 1/- each. Match 3. —Fifteen competitors received 2/- each.
Handicap Aggregate.—Ten competitors tied and after two shoots-off, the final result was as follows: Hardie Cup ■ and 7/6, Mrs. Dick Fenwick. 1; R. Rasmussen. 10/'-. 2; Mrs. Willis, 7/6, 3; 3/- each. Miss G. Fenwick, Mrs. F. Burt, A. Yule and C. Fenwick, equal; 2/6 each, Miss J. Burt. Dick Burt and L. Hodder, equal. In the Cumulative Handicap trophy. R. Rasmussen won the junior section with 99 from scratch. After two shoots-off, C. M. Bain, who registered 100 and 99 from scratch, and H. Fenwick. 99 and 98, with 1 on, making 100 and 99, will shoot off again. Championship Matches. In the championship section, the standard was high, possibles only sharing in the prize money. Fenwick and R. Rasmussen recorded 99 each and then 98 and 95 respectively. Mrs. Willis, Jean Burt, Mrs. Burt. Ken Fenwick, T. Palmer and Reg Fenwick tied for third place with 293. Mrs Willis won the shbot-off with 98. Dick Burt was the only other shooter to score 100 off the rifle during the ’ day. being the third member of tire same family to score his first possible within a fortnight of each other. MASTERTON CLUB THREE POSSIBLES REGISTERED. The Masterton Miniature Rifle Club fired a practice shoot last evening, when some good scores were registered. possibles being secured by P. Russell, Mrs. King and I. Sutherland. The scores were-as follow:—P. Russell, Mrs. King, I. Sutherland. 70; H. King, V. E. Donald, C. Curtis, 69; Mrs Catherall, W. D. Wallace, W. Doman. L. H.
