FULL-DRESS PARADE

C COMPANY PLATOONS. SMART APPEARANCE & GOOD PHYSIQUE. A full-dress parade of Nos. 1 and 2 platoons of C Company. Hawke’s Bay Regiment, was held in the Drill Hall last night. Sections were organised and N.C.O’s. appointed. The procedure of inspection of platoons was dealt with by Ser-geant-Major C. E. Rogers. The dismantling and assembly of the Lewis gun were shown, (he component parts being explained in detail. Captain C. J. Williams addressed the men before their dismissal. He expressed his pleasure at the large muster of recruits, and commented on the smart appearance and good physique of the men.

With a complete section in camp at Trentham, the large muster of recruits was most encouraging to the officers in charge. The next dress parade will be held on Monday, August 14, at 7.30 o’clock.
