COLLEGE FACILITIES

BOROUGH COUNCILLORS MUCH IMPRESSED. INSPECTION LAST NIGHT. Scvcra! members of the Masterton Borough Council paid a visit of inspection to Wairarapa College last night. They were accompanied by the Town Clerk. Mr G. T. O'Hara Smith and all were very much impressed with the magnitude and equipment of the College and the earnestness of the students, many of whom came long distances to attend the classes. It was evident to the visitors that the facilities that existed for the evening students provided a gre'at opportunity to those ambitious to further their education. The visitors were entertained at supper in the domestic science rooms, the eatables having been made by the cookery department students under the direction of Miss Parsons. Councillor W. Kemp, on behalf of councillors and the Town Clerk, thanked those responsible for the supper, which was very much appreciated and also the Principal, Mr G. G. Hancox, for the opportunity of inspecting the college. Councillor Kemp said there should be the fullest co-operation between the educational bodies of the town and the city fathers. There was no doubt that Wairarapa College was a wonderful institution and a wonderful advertisement for the borough. On behalf of the College Board of Governors, the chairman, Mr W. R. Nicol, thanked the councillors for their attendance.
