SYDNEY POST OFFICE CONTRACT FINDINGS OF ROYAL COMMISSION. NO SUSPICION OF BRIBERY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Among the findings of the Royal Commission which inquired into rival tenders for remodelling the Sydney General Post Office was that the instructions that a contract was not to be signed, which were issued by Cabinet did not reach the Works Director in Sydney, Mr Orwin, until after he had signed a contract. The Commonwealth Director-General of Works, Mr Mehaffey, the commission states, fad ed in his duty in not giving proper instructions that a contract was not to be signed, but there was m; suspicion of bribery or dishonesty eff ary scr; among Commonwealth Minister./ ci Departmental officers in the acceptance of a tender.
