In the men's singles in the third round of the western Canada championships Bromwich (Australia) be, Russell Kenington (Vancouver). 6-3. 6-0. and Hopman (Australia) beat Larry Hall (Vancouver). 6 0. 6-2. ‘ln the mixed doubles Tom Brown and Helen Gourlay (Vancouver) beat Hopman and Mrs Mary Haggart (Vancouver), 6-3, 3-6. 9-7. and Bromwich and Miss Eleanor Young, the Canadian national champion, beat Oscar Roels and Jean Eckhart (Vancouver), 6-0 6-1. Tomorrow is an off day. and the Australians will be the guests of the Vancouver Racing Association. Two of the races are named the Harry Hopman Handicap and the Jack Bromwich Feature. LONG NAP ON BALL. CRAWFORD JOINS IN COMPLAINT. (Received This Day. 9.55 a.m.) SEABRIGHT, July 26. Crawford has joined the Americans who are complaining about the long nap on the 1939 United States ball. Holding one by its whiskers Crawford told a grinning circle: “This thing needs shearing. All this fuzz slows it up so that you can't get a good whack at it."
