SALE OF DAIRY HERD

KEEN DEMAND FOR EARLY

CALVERS.

Messrs Wright. ' Stephenson & Co., Ltd., report having held a sale of dairy herd on behalf of Messrs Bidwill Bro:; at the Carterton yards on Tuesday. Although it was bitterly cold there was a very big attendance. Bidding was free and the whole herd, comprising 120 head, was put through in good lime. The cows were a good lot and in excellent condition. Early calvers were the keenest sought after, and the first fifty averaged £lO 8s 6d, the highest price being £l5. Later calvers and heifers brought the average down somewhat, but the sale was most satisfactory. Sows sold well and sundries made good values.
