RUGBY FOOTBALL

WAIRARAPA MATCHES.

IMPORTANT GAMES ON SATURDAY. Two matches having an important bearing on the senior championship will be played at Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon, commencing at 2.30 p.m.—Red Star v Gladstone and Old Boys v Greytown. The defeat of Gladstone (provided Carterton win on Saturday against Masterton) means that Carterton will have strengthened their hold on the championship, while a win by Gladstone and the defeat of Carterton will make the final result very open. Old Boys, however, are still in the running and much will depend loq on the result of the games on Saturday. The curtain-raiser at Memorial Park will be between Red Star and College thirds at 1.30 p.m.
