GOLF COMPETITIONS KUMMERSTEIN & NIMMO CUPS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The fifth round of the trophy competition was played over the weekend, Mrs Nitz returning a net 58 did best for the ladies and R. Vennell’s 67 topped the men. Mrs Foreman defeated Mrs Read in a Kumrnerstein Cup match and I. McGregor defeated A. McGregor in a Nimmo Cup challenge. Next playing day Mrs Foreman will meet Mrs Schofield, and I. McGregor will play N. Foreman. Next weekend a return match will be played between Te Wharau and Carterton on the home links. After the recent rains the links are in good order and some good golf is expected. WOMEN’S DIVISION DANCE ON SATURDAY NIGHT. The dance which is to bo held on Saturday evening next is organised by the ladies of the district and promises to be a complete Held annually this function is one of the most popular held in the district and this year the ladies’ committee aim to eclipse previous efforts. The price of admission has been fixed very low. There will be novelty dances and competitions during the evening. The proceeds will go to the Housekeeping Scheme of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union.
