THEFT OF SWEDES
MASTERTON YOUTHS BEFORE COURT.
REMANDED UNTIL TOMORROW.
Charged with the theft of a quantity of swede turnips, valued at £5, from R. N. Wyeth, Opaki, three Masterton youths, Malcolm David Sim, aged 22, Robert Southey, aged 20 and Charles Francis George Rosson, aged 23, appeared in the Masterton Court today before Messrs L. J. Taylor and E. Hodder, J.’sP. They were remanded to appear in the Magistrate’s Court tomorrow. Bail was fixed in each case at £5O and £5O surety. .“For some time this farmer at Opaki has been missing produce,”. said De-tective-Sergeant W. Kane. As a result of keeping watch, he caught the three men in the act last night. He communicated with the police, and the men were intercepted and arrested about midnight by Constable A. T. Downs.
