RESULTS AT PAHIATUA. (By Telegraph—Press Association. I PAHIATUA. July 22. Competitors and visitors from Hastings. Dahnevirke, Palmerston North. Masterton and Greytown helped to make the point-to-point meeting of the Pahiatua branch of the Dannevirke Hunt Club, held on the Pahiatua racecourse, a very successful gathering.. Only one mishap—a broken collarbone received by Mr G. Mattson when Spearson fell in the own-ers-up event—marred a splendid day’s sport. Results were: —

Owners’ Point-to-point Steeplechase, (owners up); about two miles and a half.—Barney (Mr S. Taylor) 1; Oete (Mr L. Olsen) 2; Trooper (Mr Duncan Holden) 3. Also started: Rangi (Mr W. P. Nelson); Spearson (Mr G. Mattson). Twelve lengths; five. Time, 5.20.
Pahiatua Point-to-point Steeplechase, about two miles and a half. —Mr L. H. Collinson’s Nightrunner (W. McLean) 1;' Mr J. Taylor’s Gaswyn (W. H. Bradbury) 2; Mr N. Bicknell’s Greek Arma (D. TIMARU, July 22.
The South Canterbury Hunt Club meeting was held in fine weather, with a good attendance. The totalisator handled £11,712 10s, against £12,276 10s last year, a decrease of £564. The track was good but the jumping course was slightly affected by frost. An inquiry was held after the Claremont Handicap into alleged interference by Settlement, ridden by C. Stokes, with Night Dress, ridden by M. Billington. It was decided not to alter the placings, as the interference was held to be accidental. Results: — Hadow Hurdles, one mile and a half.—2/2 Mount Vai. 10.11 (Register) 1; 1/1 Last Link, 10.1 (Shand) 2; 3/3 Bit o’ Blue, 9.0 (Credock) 3. Also started: 4/5 Contract, 5/4 Ballad, 6/6 Gasmask.
