RANGITIKEI HUNT
STEEPLES TO GLENVANE. RULING SPI WINS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) MARTON, July 25. A feature of the racing at the annual meeting of the Rangitikei Hunt Club held at Marton on Saturday was the success of two horses that claim engagements at the Grand National meeting. Aussie Ra,. who is a Grand National Hurdle contender, won the Rosebank Hack Hurdle Race in a style which suggests he might do well. if taken south. The other Riccartonengaged winner was Ruling Spi, who is in the Winter Cup. She won the open seven furlong event comfortably, after being handy all th'e way and easily held off the challenges of Liane and Mittie. The totalisator handled £13,962, compared with £10,430 last year, an increase of £3532. Details of the racing:—
