A trout weighing a little more than 41b with a metal tag attached to one of its fins was recently caught one and a half miles from the dam at Arapuni hydro-electric power station.. The number on the fin-tag enabled the fish to be identified as being one dealt with at the Tongariro hatchery on October 12, 1938. The identifiable tag on this Arapuni trout, remarked the Minister for Internal Affairs (the Hon W. E. Parry), should revive the oldtime argument among fishermen as to whether fish from Lake Taupo migrate over the Cast-flowing Iluka Falls. The find is. however, of particular interest, as the distance from where the tagged trout was retaken would be approximately 150 miles.

Tonight another of the increasingly popular dances will be held in the East School, when patrons are assured of an wijuyable time.
