POLAND DEFIED
AT NAZI DEMONSTRATION BRITAIN AND FRANCE RIDICULED. DETERMINATION TO RETURN TO REICH. By Te’egraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) DANZIG. July 9. Ten thousand German Danzigers assembled at. the village of Oliva, where they booed Poland and laughed at sarcastic references to Britain, in a speech by Herr Foerster (Nazi leader in Danzig) reasserting their determination to rejoin the Reich. Herr Foerster spoke beneath an immense banner inscribed: “Fuhrer ordered, we follow.” The speaker said the most outstanding Polish swindle was the contention that Danzig was a free city. The Polish minority were insignificant. They were only guests in Danzig and should remain quiet. The Germans intended to return to the Reich. They would decide their own fate, backed up by Germany. Herr Foerster taunted England and France on their irresolution and weakness. He fervently pledged allegiance to Herr Hitler.
