The “Daily Telegraph” says that the Polish Ambassador, Count Kaczynski, who is returning by air from Warsaw, will deliver an important message to Lord Halifax, the nature ol which will govern Air Chamberlain’s decision on whether to state Britain’s policy on Danzig forthwith. , It is expected the Prime Minister will reassure. Poland of assistance if her integrity is threatened. Air Chamberlain is expected to make a further reference to the British attitude on the Danzig dispute in the House of Commons tomorrow after he has -an interview with Count. Kaczynski, Polish Ambassador in Britain, who is returning to London tonight from Warsaw. Some notable supporters of the policy of appeasement are urging that Air Chamberlain ask. Poland to agree to the incorporation of Danzig in the Keich and offering Poland compensation -with colonies. “The 'rimes” is publishing letters on the appeasement policy, the sympathisers stating that Danzig is predominantly Germanic and should return to the Keich. The “Sunday Express’s” Berlin correspondent says that well-informed quarters declare that Herr Hitler is prepared to negotiate directly Poland might make open approaches to Berlin. The Polish Government voted £2,200,000 for additional expenditure on defence. The Government spokesman at AVarsaw yesterday, summing up the Polish altitude to Danzig, said that: (1) The Free City must remain a separate entity outside the Reich frontiers. (2) It must remain inside the Polish Customs area. (3) Poland’s rights in Danzig must not be at the mercy of any foreign Power. (4) The population must continue to enjoy full cultural rights.
