OBITUARY
MRS ELLEN HILL. The death occurred at her residence, 52 Bannister Street, yesterday, of Mrs Ellen Hill, at the age of 79 years. The late Mrs Hill, who had not been in the best of health for some time, had resided in Masterton for many years. She was born in England and spent some time in Australia before coming to New Zealand. The interment, which will be a private one. will take place at the Karori Cemetery tomorrow. LOUIS WAIN. Louis William Wain was an artist, a black and white draughtsman and animal caricaturist. Among his productions were Louis Wain’s Annual since 1901; Louis Wain's Summer Book. 1906• 7; The Kitcats, in Lady's Magazine; a large number of humorous cat and kitten books and picture postcards yearly, various oil paintings, etc. 9 china Futurist Mascot Cats. 1922; cinema cartoons 1917-18; Louis Wain Big Midget Book. 1926-27.
