COUNT CIANO DEAD

FATHER OF THE ITALIAN FOREIGN MINISTER.

The death has occurred of Count Costanzo Ciano, the Foreign Secretary’s father. He was president of the Chamber of Fasces.

Costanzo Ciano, Count of Cortellazzo, was born in 1876, and was educated at the Romo Naval Academy. He was admiral of the fleet at the conclusion of the Great War, and was a deputy in the Italian Chamber since 1921. He was appointed Minister of Posts two years later, and for 10 years he was Minister of Communications. He became President of Signor Mussolini’s Chamber of Deputies five years ago.
