FACTORY SUPPLIERS

ZONING IN THE WAIRARAPA. DOMINION-WIDE MOVE., In conformity with the decision of the dairy industry, zoning - of butter factory suppliers was recently deter ■ mined upon in the Wairarapa and Bush districts. The deputy-chairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture. Sir Francis Frazer, after consultation with the Mauriceville and Masterton dairy companies to ascertain routes, areas of collection, etc, zoned the suppliers so as to eliminate overlapping .in cream collection, with a view to reducing costs. The scheme also has the advantage of reducing road wear and of consolidating a company’s suppliers. The zoning is so arranged that a company does not suffer any reduction in tonnage of manufacture.

Zoning has been carried out in every part of New Zealand. Cheese factories are not included in the scheme.
